Ras Al Khaimah Travel Guide
Ras Al Khaimah (RAK) is the UAE's adventure capital, framed by the dramatic Hajar Mountains and a long stretch of unspoilt coastline. It's home to the world's longest zipline at Jebel Jais, via ferrata routes, mountain biking trails and hiking, alongside pristine beaches, luxury resorts and the historic Dhayah Fort. RAK pairs adrenaline-fuelled outdoor activities with a slower, nature-focused side of the Emirates that feels worlds away from the glass towers of Dubai.

Best Time to Visit Ras Al Khaimah
October to April is best for outdoor and mountain activities, with cooler temperatures at altitude on Jebel Jais making the zipline and hiking trails far more comfortable. December and January can be genuinely cold in the mountains at night, so pack a layer. Beach weather is best from November to March, same as the rest of the UAE.
Ras Al Khaimah's coastal areas follow the same hot desert pattern as the rest of the UAE, but the Hajar Mountains around Jebel Jais are noticeably cooler year-round, sometimes 10°C lower than the coast, making it the UAE's most temperate outdoor-adventure spot.
